Zèya
A live swapping marketplace. I directed a 90 day rebuild of the backend and iOS app, then stayed to lead the product.
Zèya lets people nearby swap what they have for what they need. Listings, discovery, offers, chat, trust, payments, and releases sit in one marketplace. Cash can be added when a trade is not even, across the US, Canada, the UK, France, and Germany.
As of 16 September 2026, Refresh Miami reported more than 100,000 downloads, 12,000 to 15,000 monthly active users, and $2.45M raised. Those numbers describe the product I joined. They are not outcomes I personally caused.
What I found
I came in, studied the product, and found the problems that were keeping the team from moving. The old codebase held too much context in people's heads. The same idea had several conflicting implementations. That made both human work and AI work unreliable. The team was spending its time on architecture instead of the product.
What I did
I directed a 90 day rebuild of the backend and the iOS application.
I hired the developers and the QA engineer the rebuild needed. I ran product meetings and calls with leadership and advisors three times a week. I led product direction, architecture, UX, staffing, QA, and launch.
We kept the existing product data. We moved the database to PostgreSQL. We cleaned the architecture, removed slop, and gave the codebase one source of truth so people and AI could work in it. I brought in a culture of speed and AI first instinct.
The launch succeeded. The focus now is the product, not the architecture.
What I own now
I am the Product and Engineering Lead. V4 has shipped. The current work is improving the live marketplace: discovery, offers, payments, notifications, trust, and releases.
